George R. Korpita is used to presiding over courtrooms from his perches on the benches of the municipal courts of Dover, Victory Gardens and Rockaway. But he got a different perspective of a courtroom Tuesday morning when he made his first appearance as a defendant in state Superior Court in Union County to face charges of driving while intoxicated and careless driving.
